Another shot at maze 145… Still a little sloppy, and I should have grabbed the dots near the middle left energizer at the beginning rather than leaving them for the very end. :-)

Maze 145, which is a blue Kite maze (!) and a slow maze (!!). This video is purely academic, since this maze is completely unreachable on the arcade platform unless one uses the rack advance feature (which is not allowed in a legitimate game). Enjoy!

My way of getting all of the ghosts on all 6 energizers on maze 4 (the balloon maze). NOTE: I actually recorded this on maze 12, where the ghosts stay blue for an even shorter amount of time than on 4 or 8. :-)

Jr. Pac-Man - Cat Maze perfect energizers

My method for grouping the ghosts and eating them on all 4 energizers on maze 6 (Cat) of Jr. Pac-man. It is important to group the ghosts VERY tightly (as in, right on top of each other) in order to eat them all, which is why I spend a good deal of time going in and out of the hiding place slightly right of center.

A method of trapping all 4 ghosts on maze 6 (Cat) of Jr. Pac-man. Note that they can't escape unless Junior is moved too far to either the left or the right, even if there is a reversal. Note also the freedom of movement that Junior has. I allow the ghosts to escape at the end. Also, this trick works exactly the same in mirror image.

The story behind it is that a young programmer decided it would be fun (and educational) to make an app that perfectly emulated Ms Pac-Man, but also included the bells and whistles you see here (eg showing the ghosts' targets in real time, but it also allowed you to play procedurally generated mazes... epic stuff) After building it, he asked a bunch of top MsPac players to help him test it for accuracy, and we did. So what happened? Well, Namco caught wind of it and sent him a cease and desist. We were all pretty devastated by it, because his app was SO cool! 😪
Looking to watch a full legitimate (with no contiue or cheats) hundred thousand+ game of Ms Pacman online (normal speed) and cannot find one. Can anyone help?

From my experience while playing this game, I find that the blue-green ghost is the most challenging as it seems to morph into any of the other ghost's behavior at anytime for a very short span. Just never know what it is going to do, so aside from the red ghost, I definitely try to stay away from the blue-green ghost.
Indeed! The secret to dealing with Inky is to keep him close to Red whenever possible. When the two are together, they behave the same. I cover this in my second tutorial on grouping. One caveat: it's much harder to do this when Red is moving faster than the other ghosts (a thing that I never explained... maybe I need to do another tutorial at some point? 😀)

my Church's Pastor is really good at this game. and he told us "im not saying no one here can beat my score, but it will be really difficult" so now im watching videos so i can beat his highscore. thank you for the knowledge and i hope i beat him.

@akulakaboom I gave up. He's too good and has many more years of experience with it than i ever will. I think I last heard his highscore was like 175,000 and that's just too much to try to beat. Especially since adulthood just hit me and I have no more time to try

Inky is blue, not green.
A ghost is only truly blue after an energizer has been eaten. Inky is actually both blue AND green, and to avoid confusion in this regard, I refer to her as green.

Thanks for the help, interesting that you see the Blue ghost as being Green though, it’s a lighter Blue or Cyan since this probably has 16 colors
I am amazed how many people mention this. Since you were at least nice about it... I do realize that the ghost is Cyan. I chose Green (and not blue) because the ghosts actually DO turn blue when they eat an energizer, and I wanted to avoid confusion. Funny how that one "helpful" idea I had has bent so many people out of shape! If I ever do any more of these, I'll just refer to the ghost as Inky and be done with it lol
Whoa going back almost a year since I wrote that, I must not have scrolled down very far into comments or I wouldn’t have brought up the ghost color and I certainly didn’t intend to pile on something so unimportant to the video. I love your content. your understanding of the game makes watching gameplay entertaining rather than aggravating, watching all the mistakes most players make to cause a short play. I especially loved your Ms. Pac-Man video. I've been going to the local cinema to have a go at their original Ms. Pac arcade but the clock speed is so high, it feels like I'm playing a modern shooter lol
Thanks! Yeah, sadly there don't seem to be many Ms. Pac cabinets left that run at the original speed. Inevitably, they all seem to have the "turbo" version of the game where Ms. Pac-Man moves ridiculously faster than the ghosts. It may make the game easier (and more fun for some), but it really does take almost all of the cool strategy out of the game IMO. What can you do?

Wow, calling Inky a "green" ghost made me pause the video and go down a weird colour rabbit hole on google. At first I thought, why is it we don't all think of cyan more like purple and orange? It's a secondary colour like those right? Nope, I forgot GREEN is a secondary colour (between blue and yellow) even though it's often treated like a primary colour, making cyan a tertiary colour. Other tertiary colours include vermillion (red-orange) and chartreuse (yellow-green) and how often do you think about those colours by name? Anyway, I guess my original point was that I'd never call cyan green. I've always considered it more of a light blue even though I know that's technically not true. I know it's just as much green as it is blue, even if my brain doesn't want to accept that and has decided to group cyan with shades of blue rather than green. Similarly I'd never consider chartreuse a shade of yellow. I bet there's some wacky psychological reasons why we each group colours differently in our heads. Umm, colour nonsense aside this is a great video!

Inky is blue, not green...
Cyan is both green and blue; some cultures call it grue.
I have been playing Ms Pacman since I was a kid and it first came out. I have owned an original arcade cabinet, now I have an arcade 1up version. In that version the orange ghost does not behave exactly as described. At times it will come straight at you even if you are in the upper left corner. Can be frustrating until you accept the fact they must have changed something in the coding when they emulated the game for their hardware.
